Dear UASCH community!
We have passed the halfway mark for the 2018-2019 school year. We have accomplished a considerable amount, but we can do much more with the help of engaged parents. We believe that informed and engaged parents translates into positive outcomes for students. The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is the institution that the NYC Department of Education created to foster collaboration between school leaders, staff and parents. Parents are the engine of an effective PTA. There are multiple benefits to participating in our PTA including obtaining information about graduation requirements, tracking your child’s credits, and school events. The PTA also organizes workshops and cultural events for the school community. Those parents who attended our workshop regarding college savings received valuable information, which will help them to minimize the cost of college. By giving up one evening per month, you could gain access to a wealth of information. We are anticipating many new families joining our PTA, and look forward to seeing you on February 12 at 6:30 pm for a workshop regarding tax filing and how it affects the college application process. Please RSVP me at 718-277-1572 ext. 5 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to seeing you then!
